Supporting LAC

Wish List of the Latin America Committee:

The Latin America Committee can help our sister chapters and other groups we support by supplying other things besides money. We've started a list below. If you have something you could donate, please contact us.

1. Binoculars. See the companion page.

2. Frequent Flyer Miles. Air tickets are needed both for committee members who need to travel to Latin America to set up or manage programs and also to bring Latin American visitors to the Bay Area. 30,000 miles on American Airlines, 35,000 on United, Continental or Northwest Airlines are sufficient for a ticket. Since these are strictly speaking donations to individuals rather than to a non-profit corporation, they are not considered tax-deductible by IRS.

3. Field guides, used or new, to the birds of any country of Latin America, particularly any in Spanish. Books on other natural history topics are also welcome.

4. Photos. Do you have any scanned photos that might be incorporated into future versions of this website?

Contributions to the Golden Gate Audubon Society, whether designated to support a specific program or for unrestricted use, are welcome. Please send checks made out to GGAS to our Secretary, Audre Newman, at 2913 Fulton Street, Berkeley CA 94705. She will enter the associated information into our own records, send an acknowledgment, and forward the check to the main office of GGAS.

Your participation and your time, however, would be the most valuable donation of all. Please contact Audre at audrenew@gmail.com to inquire about the date and place of our next meeting.
